Welcome!

Here on this page you will find exactly what we do and who we are!

Super Cell Analysis Team, otherwise refered to as (S.C.A.T.), is a non-incorporated, non-profit organization which consist of a team of experienced storm chasers which operates out of the Homeland Security office here in Monroe, Louisiana. We are a team of extreme storm chasers that provides emergency communications to local, district, and nation wide government bodys and direct weather information to the National Weather Service. We stand ready to assist in times of need like before, during, and after the weather strikes in order to provide the citizens of the communities we pass through with potentially life-saving information. Our aim is to provide far better data and live video to the National Weather Service by the way of chasing severe storms as they move in our area. With this information the National Weather Service can issue faster and more accurate watches and warnings to the public.

In the event of a severe weather outbreak we will locate and intercept the supercells, providing ground weather data which include: eye witness confirmation, wind speeds, wind direction, pressure, damage reports, weather severity vs. radar, and even live video to the NWS. With our team members in different locations around the storm we will be able to provide accurate, real-time weather data from around the entire storm. We would also be able to provide photos and videos from various different angle. We would also perform damage surveys to record what, when, how everything happened, and maybe what could have been done better to have given a faster and more accurate warning. We go out and gather information necessary to potentially save your life! However, we cannot do this without your support. You, the public, are the backbone of our operation, to help support us in our journey to help save lives. Without you, we cannot get this vital information out to the NWS.

We are not only out there because it's what we love to do… but to help save lives! If there is a way to have had a warning issued sooner, someone's life will not be lost. NEXRAD (Next Generation of Weather Radar) is the most commonly used weather radar and it has one major flaw -- it can NOT see what is happening at ground level. That’s where we come in! This group is meant to act like a platform for all chasers to connect and share information, because when severe weather hits, communication is priceless. Our team consists of professional storm chasers, college professors, local college students, and HAM radio operators. All members are requested to have Skywarn training and be able to provide a certificate. Safety comes first when we are out in the field so you must know what is happing at all times and how to react.
